What dental assistant employers look for on a resume
Dental assistant jobs are in general dentist offices, orthodontists, and oral surgery practices. Hiring managers scan for three things first:
- Your credentials, near the top. CDA (DANB), Radiation Health and Safety (RHS), Infection Control (ICE). List each one you hold, and training you are finishing with the expected date.
- Work that shows the job. Lines like "Assisted the dentist chairside during procedures" or "Took dental X-rays". Past jobs in other fields count when you show the same habits: reliability, care, safety, and teamwork.
- The skills they search for. Chairside assisting, Dental radiography, Sterilization, Infection control, Impressions. The builder lets you tap the ones you have.
When you get the call, practice the dental assistant interview questions. Still need training? WIOA can pay for it: see WIOA funding for dental assistant training.
