What CNA employers look for on a resume
CNA jobs are in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, and home health agencies. Hiring managers scan for three things first:
- Your credentials, near the top. State CNA certification, Completed state-approved nurse aide training, BLS (Basic Life Support). List each one you hold, and training you are finishing with the expected date.
- Work that shows the job. Lines like "Helped residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting" or "Took and recorded vital signs". Past jobs in other fields count when you show the same habits: reliability, care, safety, and teamwork.
- The skills they search for. Patient care, Vital signs, Safe transfers and gait belt use, Infection control, Activities of daily living (ADLs). The builder lets you tap the ones you have.
When you get the call, practice the CNA interview questions. Still need training? WIOA can pay for it: see WIOA funding for CNA training.
