What forklift employers look for on a resume
Forklift jobs are in warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and retail stockrooms. Hiring managers scan for three things first:
- Your credentials, near the top. OSHA forklift certification, Reach truck certification, Order picker certification. List each one you hold, and training you are finishing with the expected date.
- Work that shows the job. Lines like "Operated a sit-down forklift" or "Operated a reach truck or order picker". Past jobs in other fields count when you show the same habits: reliability, care, safety, and teamwork.
- The skills they search for. Forklift operation, Reach truck, Order picking, RF scanners, Shipping and receiving. The builder lets you tap the ones you have.
When you get the call, practice the forklift interview questions. Still need training? WIOA can pay for it: see WIOA funding for forklift training.
