Workforce readiness platform
Capstone Workforce is the readiness platform for grant-funded training programs. Participants practice interviews, workplace scenarios and presentations on any device; every session is scored on one published rubric; managers see who is at risk; executives export the funder report in under five minutes. NPower ran 245 scored mock interviews in nine weeks with zero added staff.
Definition
It is a layer between two systems a program already has. The learning management system holds the coursework. The case management system (for example G*STARS, Apricot, or a state system from Geographic Solutions) holds the case file. Neither one produces evidence that a participant can hold the conversation that gets the job. A readiness platform produces that evidence from practice, and the funder report is built from it.
The category exists because of what funders now measure. WIOA measures programs on six indicators, including employment in the second and fourth quarters after exit and measurable skill gains. Workforce Pell programs must clear a 70 percent completion rate and a 70 percent verified placement rate to stay eligible, with a two-year lockout for programs that miss. A program that cannot see readiness before placement cannot manage either number. Bridging the Readiness Gap sets out the four requirements that follow: scale capacity without scaling headcount, build programs backward from employer hiring requirements, make focused practice the program, and instrument everything and prove it.
How it works
Practice reps on demand, scored the same way every time.
AI mock interviews (behavioral, technical, situational), live workplace scenario role-plays with an AI person who talks back, presentation practice on video, and sandboxed coding challenges for IT programs. On a phone, tablet or laptop, at any hour, in English or Spanish.
Who is ready, who is slipping, and what to assign next.
A readiness dashboard with every participant's rubric scores, automated at-risk alerts when someone drifts below threshold, and assignment tracking per cohort. Scenarios can be built per track and per employer partner.
The outcome report, in the funder's format, in minutes.
One-click reports with cohort comparisons and WIOA-compliant skill-gain data. The compliance dashboard computes the six WIOA indicators against negotiated levels. Placement attestation stores participant and employer confirmation with the record.
Candidates scored before the interview, with the bias check done.
Candidate screening with AI scoring on the same rubric, and an adverse-impact dashboard so selection rates by group are visible before anyone is passed through.
In numbers from the first deployment: 6 times more practice reps per participant than staff-led mock interviews, 100 percent of sessions auto-evaluated, and a funder-ready cohort report in under 5 minutes. The practice layer is described in full on AI mock interview software; the reporting layer on WIOA reporting software.
Placement
Programs are judged on placement. Workforce Pell needs a 70 percent verified placement rate to stay eligible, and WIOA reports employment after exit. When a cohort finishes, Capstone Careers finds openings near each graduate every morning, rewrites the resume for each one, and fills in the application for the graduate to check and send. Every application gets a one-page proof record.

Comparisons
Consumer interview tools coach one person and keep the result with that person. Placement platforms place candidates. A readiness platform runs the cohort and proves the outcome. Competitor facts below are as their public materials read in September 2026.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Built for | A program running cohorts and reporting to funders | One person preparing, with institutional licenses | One person practicing speech, with team plans | Placing candidates with employers |

Proof
6x
more practice reps per participant than staff-led mock interviews, with every session scored automatically.
245 interviews
scored at NPower in nine weeks with zero added staff; about 123 coach-hours of work and $9.2K to $24.5K in staff labor avoided.
Proficient
the Confidence tier the NPower cohort exited at, on the published five-dimension rubric.
13.5 percent
productivity gain from structured soft-skills training, with a 256 percent net return in eight months (Journal of Political Economy, 2023).
Customers include NPower, VetsInTech, the United Nations Foundation, Consult Lemonade and the University of Rhode Island. The full NPower numbers are in the case study.
Pricing
Sized to grant cycles. One cohort (up to 50 learners, 16 weeks) $4,500. Five cohorts $20,000. Ten cohorts $36,000.
By active learner volume. 250 learners $12,000. 500 learners $24,000. 1,000 learners $48,000.
From $5 per seat for manager conversation practice and onboarding readiness.
Every tier includes the full platform. Run the numbers on the pricing calculator or read the pricing page.
Resource library
The library also carries state-by-state Workforce Pell pages, WIOA occupation and city guides, and comparison pages. Job seekers looking for practice should start at the AI interview practice app page instead.
Software a training program uses to practice, score and report job readiness. Participants run mock interviews, workplace scenarios and presentations; every session is scored on one published rubric; managers see who is ready and who is at risk; executives export the outcome report a funder asks for. It sits beside the case management system and the learning management system, which hold the case file and the coursework.
Those products coach one person and keep the result with that person. Capstone Workforce runs the cohort: the same five-dimension rubric on every session, a manager dashboard with at-risk alerts and assignment tracking, scenarios built for the roles and employers the program places into, and outcome reports aligned to the six WIOA indicators. A single job seeker should look at the job-seeker plan instead.
Five dimensions: Clarity, Confidence, Pacing, Engagement and Persuasiveness, each 1 to 5, with tiers from Emerging to Master. Filler words are counted separately. The rubric is published and applied the same way from the first session to the last, so a baseline-to-exit comparison per participant holds up in a funder report.
Under 15 minutes. Create a cohort code, share it, and participants self-register on a phone, tablet or laptop, take a baseline, and start practicing in the same sitting. No IT project and no integration is needed to begin. A roster can come in by CSV when you want the compliance dashboard to compute indicators.
Scored sessions produce measurable skill gain evidence instead of case notes. The compliance dashboard computes the six WIOA indicators against your negotiated levels and ranks who can still close a gap. Workforce Pell programs must clear a 70 percent completion rate and a 70 percent verified placement rate; the 70/70 projection tool shows where a cohort stands before the year closes. The funder report, with cohort comparisons, exports in under five minutes.
Pricing is public and scales with volume, not features. Cohort Packs sized to grant cycles: $4,500 for one cohort of up to 50 learners for 16 weeks, $20,000 for 5 cohorts, $36,000 for 10. Annual Platform by active learner volume: $12,000 for 250, $24,000 for 500, $48,000 for 1,000. Corporate training from $5 per seat.
Structured practice with feedback raised interview ratings in a Clemson University study of mock interviews. In its first deployment, NPower ran 245 scored mock interviews in nine weeks with zero added staff, about 123 coach-hours of work, and the cohort exited at Proficient-level Confidence on the published rubric. Structured soft-skills training produced 13.5 percent productivity gains and a 256 percent net return within eight months in a 2023 Journal of Political Economy study.
