Does WIOA pay for forklift certification in West Virginia?

Who qualifies for a WIOA forklift grant in West Virginia?
- Adult program: 18 or older, able to work legally, and signed up for Selective Service if that applies to you. Training money goes first to people on public assistance, people with low income, and people who need basic skills. Veterans and eligible spouses go ahead of others in every program.
- Dislocated Worker program: laid off or given notice, on unemployment or ran out of it, or formerly self-employed.
- Youth program: 16 to 24 and out of school, or in school and low income.
You must be 18 to operate a forklift in most workplaces. Many warehouses run a drug screen and a background check. Physical requirements are modest, but the jobs involve lifting and standing for full shifts.
Bring photo ID, your Social Security card, proof you can work, and income or layoff papers. Veterans bring the DD-214.

After the card: the warehouse interview
Warehouse interviews are short and about reliability and safety. Supervisors ask about attendance, how you handle a near-miss, and whether you can work a shift pattern. Applicants who answer plainly with an example and who mention safety without being asked get the offer. Rehearse those before you apply.
