How Walmart hires for hourly jobs
- Search open roles on careers.walmart.com and read the job description.
- Fill out the online application. A resume is not required. The first application takes 20 to 25 minutes on average. Hourly applications in the Walmart Online Hiring Center can be saved and finished later.
- Complete any assessments the position requires.
- See a confirmation screen once the application and required assessments are done.
- Track status in the Walmart Careers portal: under review, interview scheduled, position filled.
- Interview if selected. Walmart says it will tell you if you are not selected for an interview.
- Walmart's application form says outside sources, like past employers, schools, credit bureaus and law enforcement agencies, share your background only after you accept a conditional job offer.

Questions to practice for a Walmart job
We did not find a list of interview questions on Walmart's careers pages. These are common questions for hourly jobs to practice out loud:
- Tell me about yourself and why you want to work here.
- Tell me about a time you helped a customer who was upset. What did you do?
- How do you keep up on a busy shift with a lot to do?
- What would you do if you saw a coworker skip a safety rule?
- Tell me about a time you worked as part of a team to get something done.
- What hours and days can you work?
Answer each with a short, true example: what happened, what you did, and how it turned out.
