The weekly work search rule in Oklahoma
At least 2 work search efforts for each week you file for benefits. You must do them and keep a record of them. An effort with the same employer for the same job can only be repeated every 4 weeks.
Keep a record of each work search effort. OESC says the best way is to add each one to your EmployOklahoma.gov account under Job Search Activity, but a paper form also works. If your claim is audited, you must send the records within 5 business days of the notice being mailed.
File and certify on the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission site. The rules can change, so check OESC's work search page if a letter from them says something different.

Who does not have to search for work in Oklahoma
You are exempt only if you are on a temporary layoff with a return-to-work date within 8 weeks of your last day worked, you belong to a certified labor or trade union with a business agent or hiring hall, or you are in an approved training program such as Trade Adjustment Assistance training.
Keep your work search log free
Write down each activity the day you do it: the date, the employer, how you contacted them, the job, and what happened. If the state asks to see your search, the log is your proof.
The free work search log in Capstone Careers keeps it for you: each application you send through Capstone Careers goes on it by itself, you add the ones you do elsewhere, and you can save the week as a PDF.

If you want to train for a new job, WIOA can pay for approved training if you qualify. See how WIOA works in Oklahoma.
