The weekly work search rule in Hawaii
Complete at least 3 work search activities each week you file a claim.
Record each activity in the Work Search Log in your online claimant portal. Your entries carry over to your weekly or biweekly claim certification, which asks for details about your work search. A paper log is fine for your own notes, but you must still enter the activities online.
File and certify on the Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations site. The rules can change, so check DLIR's work search page if a letter from them says something different.

Who does not have to search for work in Hawaii
If you are still attached to your regular employer and are partially unemployed, you do not need to look for work once your employer verifies your status.
Keep your work search log free
Write down each activity the day you do it: the date, the employer, how you contacted them, the job, and what happened. If the state asks to see your search, the log is your proof.
The free work search log in Capstone Careers keeps it for you: each application you send through Capstone Careers goes on it by itself, you add the ones you do elsewhere, and you can save the week as a PDF.
