Live Interview Assistant: Real-Time Prompts During Your Interview

25 job seekers told us it helped them get hired in the past few months. Put your Zoom, Teams, or phone interview on speaker: it hears each question and shows short talking points from your own resume the moment they ask. Everything comes from what you have really done, so your answer holds up on the follow-up.

What the Live Interview Assistant is

The Live Interview Assistant is a second screen you open during a real interview. Put your phone or laptop on speaker, and it transcribes what the interviewer asks and hands you talking points built from your own resume — in real time, while you are still in the conversation.

It is the moment-of answer to the problem every other tool leaves open. The AI interview coach builds the muscle before the interview; the Live Assistant sits next to you during it.

How it works during a real interview

The live view is two columns so your eyes only ever move one direction: what was said on the left, what to say on the right. The interviewer asks a question; the assistant transcribes it on the left and shows talking points on the right.

You answer in your own words, using the points as a prompt. The next question replaces the last one, so you are never scrolling back through a transcript mid-answer.

What you set up (about 30 seconds)

Because it gets used thirty seconds before an interview starts, setup is deliberately short — three fields and a resume:

  • The job title — required, so the prompts are aimed at the role.
  • The company — optional.
  • The job posting — optional, and it sharpens the talking points toward what this employer asks for.
  • Your resume — required. Every talking point is built from it.

Nothing is invented. If your resume does not cover a question, the assistant says so instead of padding an answer.

How it fits with the AI interview coach

The two tools are complementary, not competing. The AI interview coach is practice: it asks role-specific questions, times your spoken answer, and scores clarity, pacing, structure, and filler words. Use it 5 to 10 times to build the delivery muscle.

The Live Interview Assistant is the real thing: it sits on speaker during the actual call and prompts you with the material you have already practiced. The coach gets you ready; the assistant keeps you ready in the room.

What it does and does not do

It does: transcribe the interviewer, pull talking points from your resume, and keep them visible as the conversation moves. It does not record the employer, share your audio with anyone, or invent experience you do not have.

Your recordings are account-based and can be deleted from Settings at any time. The assistant is a prompt, not a replacement for your own answer.

How to open it

Sign in and open the Live Assistant from the practice hub, or use the button below. You will land on the setup screen: job title, company, job description, and resume. Then start the session and put the call on speaker.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install anything?

No. The Live Assistant runs in the browser on your phone or laptop. You open it, allow the microphone, and put the call on speaker. No extension, no desktop app.

Does it talk for me?

No. It shows talking points built from your own resume so you can answer in your own words. You still speak. It is a prompt, not a script reader, and it will not invent experience you do not have.

Can it hear the interviewer?

Yes. With the call on speaker, it transcribes what the interviewer asks and shows you the question on the left while the suggested talking points appear on the right.

Does it work with Zoom and Teams?

Yes. It works with any call you can put on speaker — Zoom, Teams, a phone call, or a video interview — because it only needs to hear the audio.

Do I need a resume?

Yes. Every talking point is built from your resume. That is the point: it hands you the lines from what you have really done, and if your resume does not cover a question, it says so rather than making something up.

What happens after the interview?

You get a review of the session: each question that was asked, what you said, and the suggested talking points, plus the full transcript. You can run another interview or switch to the practice coach.

Do I need an account?

Yes. The Live Assistant sits inside the student practice hub, so it asks you to sign in first. Sign in and it opens at /student/practice/live-assistant.
